Windows 7 again

It's now ben a month since I got rid of Windows Vista. I haven't had a single BSOD since then, but I have had a run of smaller crashes: programs freezing up; Windows Explorer not answering to the switch and refusing to shut down; my screen resolution changing to 640x480 all by itself and not wanting to change back. A couple of days ago I updated my video driver and so far, that seems to have fixed things. I have a fairly ordinary NVidia video card, and assumed that the Win 7 installation would have sorted out any driver problems but apparently not. So. A resounding two cheers for Windows 7! I am almost impressed.

Anglicans believe that God speaks through their bishops. In this case I think God may be speaking to me through the bishop-elect: "for your next computer, buy an Apple"!!

Peter Carrell is right. Any bishop-elect should know that an Apple Mac is essential to salvation.

I think God is preparing you for the big one - Win666 - Believe me that will provide pastoral problems enough. So consider your present system a Window of opportunity. As for the advice regarding Apple computers - As a Bishop elect you will of course consider this from a theological point of view and realise that apples can be the genesis of all sorts of problems.

My computer might be Pentecostal because it regularly speaks in unknown tongues and is frequently slain in the spirit.On the other hand, it is certainly contemplative - able to sit in silence for long periods with no discernible sign of movement. Macs do everything decently and in order, so they are obviously Presbyterian. For an Anglican computer I'd need to look to Linux - bits cobbled together from all over the place, lots of different versions which are similar in their essentials but squabble bitterly over their petty differences.
